Let’s Look Beyond Covid

Hello all! My name is Kelley Biondolillo and I’m a registered and licensed dietitian and Institute for Integrative Nutrition Certified Health Coach. I am at the point now where it is near impossible for me to stay silent regarding our nation’s health.

My intent is not to shame or blame people, but instead encourage everyone to step back from the narrow covid lens and look at the big picture of our collective health and think critically about what is happening. I’m not intending to minimize covid , I know it is very real and serious. But I think it’s incredibly important to understand that the current state of America’s poor health is by far the biggest factor affecting the severe and fatal covid outcomes.

I want to lay out a few facts here that are not being broadly communicated:

-First and foremost, It’s been reported by the CDC that at least 78% of the hospitalized covid patients were either overweight or obese. This number is conservative… I’ve heard of other studies showing 95% were overweight or obese.

-Behind obesity, fear has now been shown to be the second highest risk factor contributing to a negative covid outcome.

-80% of severe covid outcomes are in people that are deficient in Vitamin D.

-And by now we have all heard that those with PREVENTABLE chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure are at much higher risk for a severe covid event.

So I ask you this….. when was the last time you heard the president or any public health official tell the American people that they should lose weight, take vitamin D or stop being afraid? Let me repeat…. Have you ever heard Biden, Fauci or any public “health” official or expert tell you that it would help you TREMENDOUSLY if you would lose weight, take vitamin D or meditate and practice mindfulness? I’m gonna go with an emphatic “NO” to that question.

Why is that? Why instead is there a CONSTANT stream of vaccine pushing? Now let me clarify- I am happy that people have access to a vaccine… I am not here to discount it’s effectiveness. But what I can’t keep quiet about it that it is being touted at the one and only way to save America. When the clear reality is that if Americans were healthier the vast majority of lives lost to covid would still be here. Please take a moment to let that sink in.

There will be more pandemics. We will always have mutating viruses that make people sick. But people are dying needlessly because the focus is on a shot and not making America truly well.

Given this, why won’t the government and public health organizations focus on making America well? Why do they continue to pour billions of dollars in subsidies into growing corn and soy?…. Almost all of which ends up in ultra processed foods like Coke and Doritos?… “Foods” that are literally killing Americans one bite at a time? Or why are they partnering with companies like Pfizer who have paid out BILLIONS of dollars in wrongful death lawsuits and have been shown to intentionally inflict harm on innocent victims in order to add to their bottom line? And why are junk food companies allowed to spend millions lobbying in Washington? I think most people know there is one answer to all of these questions. But the bottom line is no one but you actually cares about your health. Well, of course your friends and family do. But the people that are “looking out for us” really don’t want you well. There is no money in that.

So today I urge you to really look at your health. Be honest with yourself. Weigh yourself. Look at your diet. You are not reading this by accident. Get the support you need. And I can tell you that if transforming your health relies on a pill, diet or other quick fix you’re in the wrong place. True health is a lifestyle…. One that radically improves your well-being both mentally and physically.  Comment or message me and I can point you in the right direction. But please don’t read this and do nothing. If you’re truly concerned about the health of your friends, family, kids and even our nation, it starts with one. It starts with you.
